IFK Klagshamn was one of 51 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Malmöspelen 2016. They participated with three teams in Pojkar 05 and Flickor 03 respectively. Two teams played until Semi final in B-slutspel; Flickor 03 1 lost against LUGI HF 2 by 5-16 and Flickor 03 2 lost against HK Ankaret 1 by 11-15.
In addition to this, IFK Klagshamn have participated in Malmöspelen before. During Malmöspelen 2015, IFK Klagshamn had one team playing in Flickor 00. The team in Flickor 00 made it to the the Final in B-slutspel, but lost it against HK Ankaret 2 by 8-9. IFK Klagshamn comes from Klagshamn which lies approximately 10 km from Malmö, where Malmöspelen takes place. The area around Klagshamn does also provide 38 additional clubs participating during Malmöspelen 2016 (Among others: Ljunghusens HK, Dalhems IF, Hk Ankaret, Bulltoftaskolan, Svedala HK, H43 Lund, Apelgårdsskolan, Bäckagårdsskolan 4A, H43 Lund Centrum and IFK Malmö Handboll).
